Chief Sinatu Aduke Sanni aka ‘Iya Orisha Olumo’(Priestess of the Olumo deities) Aged 135

She is arguably one of the oldest living individuals in the World. She was born on August 15, 1885. She lives on Olumo Rock. Olumo Rock is one of major the tourist attractions in Abeokuta, Ogun State of Nigeria. Historically, the rock was a natural fortress for the Egbas during inter-tribal and Dahomean wars in the 19th century.

The people lived in caves inside the rock and they remain protected throughout the war period.

It is believed that Sinatu has witnessed the coronation of four Alakes(Egba kings) since 1898. It is she who completes the coronation rites of the Alakes of Egbaland by handing over the leaves from the ‘tree of life’ to the king makers.

People travel from all over the world to see her for prayers, divinations and spiritual assistance. She is known to help the barren, job seekers and those who are afflicted by strange illnesses. She worships Igun, Obaluaye, Sango and Ogun.
